Carpenters learn at and with WEINMANN

Cooperation WEINMANN and Kerschensteiner Schule Reutlingen

  • WEINMANN Beam processing, wood working, multifunction bridge, carpentry
The students of the carpenter class made a Carpentry assembly trestle of their own with the beam processing machine.

The subject machine control / CAD takes a more and more important value at the schools for carpenters and carpenter's masters . The Kerschensteiner school of Reutlingen and the company WEINMANN have taken care of this subject together and in addition have founded a cooperation. Two carpenter's classes as well as a carpenter master class visited WEINMANN for training in November and December.

Divided in several groups the students got to know first the bases of the machine control in the theory. Afterwards they could use this knowledge directly at the machines - two carpentry machines and two multifunction bridges. Already in advance the students provided the data set for the production of a so called “Zimmererbock”. This was produced with the carpentry machine and the students could take this with them.

The wide range of machine technology offered a comprehensive impression of modern technology to the students. They got to know machines for the automated beam processing as well as the automated element production.

This additional offer at school as an important component of the education and, hence, is firmly integrated in the curriculum. The students learn directly at the latest machines and collect this way already experiences for the later occupation.
